Valorant / Riot ID

How to make a Valorant account — Riot ID, Vanguard, then store it

A Valorant account is a Riot account. The same Riot ID signs you into League of Legends, Teamfight Tactics, and 2XKO, so losing it costs more than one game. Make it on Riot’s site, secure it, and keep the details somewhere you will find them again.

How to make a Valorant account and save it

  1. Step 1

Sign up at playvalorant.com or riotgames.com

Choose “Sign up”, enter an email you will keep for years, your date of birth, and a password you do not reuse anywhere else.

  2. Step 2

Pick your Riot ID and tagline

Your Riot ID is the name#tag other players see. Your sign-in username is separate and private — write both down, because people mix them up at login.

  3. Step 3

Verify email and turn on multi-factor sign-in

Confirm the email Riot sends, then enable Riot’s email code or authenticator sign-in in account settings. Stolen Riot accounts are usually ones without it.

  4. Step 4

Install the Riot Client and Vanguard (PC)

Download only from Riot. Vanguard, Riot’s anti-cheat, runs at boot and needs a restart. On console, sign in with the same Riot account from the PlayStation or Xbox app.

  5. Step 5

    Save it in LoginScout

Store the Riot username, Riot ID#tag, email, password, region, and 2FA notes on one card. Add alts as separate cards with a status so smurfs never overwrite your main.

Why a Riot login deserves its own card

One login, several games

Valorant skins, League champions, and TFT progress all hang off the same Riot account. Lose it once and you lose all three.

Username ≠ Riot ID

The name you sign in with is not the name#tag on the scoreboard. A vault card keeps both so you stop resetting passwords by accident.

Region matters

Accounts are tied to a region shard. Note it on the card so a friend invite or a new PC does not send you hunting.

Alts without chaos

Many players run a main and a practice account. Separate cards, tags, and statuses keep them from blending together.

Valorant alts and Riot’s rules

Riot allows more than one account, but buying, selling, or sharing accounts breaks its terms and gets accounts banned. Only store accounts you created yourself.

Rank manipulation and boosting are also against the rules. LoginScout is a vault, not a smurf shop — it does not create, sell, or level Riot accounts.

Questions people ask

Is a Valorant account free?

Yes. Valorant is free to play. You only need a free Riot account; skins and battle passes are optional purchases.

Can I use my League of Legends account for Valorant?

Yes. Both use the same Riot account, so sign in with your existing League login instead of making a new one.

Do I need Vanguard to play Valorant?

On PC, yes. Vanguard is Riot’s required anti-cheat and needs a restart after install, and Riot requires it to be running while you play.

Does LoginScout sell Valorant accounts?

No. You create the account at Riot. LoginScout only stores the login and recovery details for accounts you own.
