How it works

How LoginScout works: create a vault, save logins, unlock on this device

LoginScout is a browser vault you unlock locally. You add accounts you own. You search them when you need them. Your vault is encrypted on your device with AES-256-GCM before it is saved to your account.

How LoginScout works

  1. Step 1

    Create a vault

Pick a username and 4-digit PIN, or continue with Google. No card is required for the free plan.

  2. Step 2

    Add library cards

Platform, credentials, notes, tags, linked profiles, and optional authenticator secrets sit on one card.

  3. Step 3

    Find it later

Search and filters beat a spreadsheet. Favorites should be the few logins you open every week.

  4. Step 4

Export a backup before you change devices

Import restores the encrypted package. You unlock with the same PIN. If you forget the PIN, we do not reset it.

The loop

Unlock on the device in front of you

Username and PIN vaults derive a key from your PIN in the browser, then encrypt the vault with AES-256-GCM. We do not reset forgotten PINs.

Google convenience mode is different

If you sign in with Google convenience mode, we store a vault key and release it only to your authenticated Google session on this site. That mode is not zero-knowledge. Privacy Policy has the exact wording.

Sync stores the encrypted vault

Every vault, free or paid, is saved to your account in encrypted form so it can sync. 2FA codes and quick notes are saved only on this device.

You bring the accounts

Nothing here creates Steam, Epic, or Roblox accounts. The vault stores credentials you add.

Free vs Premium in this flow

Free: up to five accounts, local encryption, encrypted cloud sync, quick links, notes and authenticator codes, recovery email stored on each card, encrypted backups. Premium: up to 100 accounts, a private vault-tied disposable inbox, and burner numbers via 5sim with a monthly quota.

Prices are on the pricing page. Features and limits can change; Terms says so explicitly.

Questions people ask

Where is my data stored?

Your vault is encrypted on your device with AES-256-GCM, then saved to your account on our servers so it can sync. Google convenience mode also stores a vault key for that Google session. 2FA codes and quick notes are saved only on this device. See Privacy and Security.

Can support recover my PIN?

No. That is the tradeoff of a vault that cannot be reset by email.

Does Free issue a LoginScout temp inbox?

No. Free stores notes, authenticator codes, and the recovery email you type on each card. A LoginScout-issued disposable inbox and burner SMS are Premium.

Keep the identity with the login.

Create a free vault, then upgrade for a private temp mailbox and burner numbers when the library grows.
